HONOLULU – Hawaii's state Senate overwhelmingly approved a bill Wednesday to celebrate "Islam Day" — over the objections of a few lawmakers who said they didn't want to honor a religion connected to Sept. 11, 2001.
The Senate's two Republicans argued that a minority of Islamic extremists have killed many innocents in terrorist attacks.
"I recall radical Islamists around the world cheering the horrors of 9/11. That is the day all civilized people of all religions should remember," said Republican Sen. Fred Hemmings to the applause of more than 100 people gathered in the Senate to oppose a separate issue — same-sex civil unions.
The resolution to proclaim Sept. 24, 2009, as Islam Day passed the Senate on a 22-3 vote. It had previously passed the House.
The bill seeks to recognize "the rich religious, scientific, cultural and artistic contributions" that Islam and the Islamic world have made. It does not call for any spending or organized celebration of Islam Day.

Islam Is Like Smoking Marijuana

The reason why I wrote the title (Islam Is Like Smoking Marijuana) is because of the suicidal tendencies both marijuana and Islam can bring to somebody and to a society (ex: the west bank, Gaza strip, you already know).
Here are some of the statistics the article ("Media Campaign Fact Sheets Marijuana and Mental Health.")brought to knowledge:
Teens age 12 to 17 who smoke marijuana weekly are three times more likely than non-users to have thoughts about committing suicide.
Some research shows that marijuana use can precede symptoms of depression. Girls (ages 14–15) who used marijuana daily were five times more likely to face depression at age 21. Weekly use among all teens studied doubled the risk for depression.
A study of adults found that marijuana use quadrupled the risk of later major depression.
A study of 1,265 children over a 21-year period found that marijuana use, particularly heavy or regular use, was associated with later increases in depression, suicidal thoughts and suicide attempts.
Past-year marijuana use has been linked to social withdrawal, anxiety, depression, attention problems and thoughts of suicide in adolescents.
Research with twins found that the twin who was dependent on marijuana was almost three times more likely to think about suicide and attempt suicide than his/her non-marijuana dependent co-twin.
Among men suffering from schizophrenia, those who had used marijuana were much more likely to experience their first psychotic episode at an early age.
A recent study found that that the earlier the use of marijuana (age 15 vs. age 18), the greater the risk of schizophrenia.
A study published in 2005 found that regular use of marijuana may double the risk of developing psychotic disorders and that marijuana causes chemical changes to the brain. The study maintains that smoking marijuana causes symptoms even when other factors are taken into consideration.
Also, In an article written by World Net Daily called "Palestinian children 'dream of martyrdom'":
A Palestinian psychologist claims that more than half of Palestinian children aged 6 to 11 dream of becoming suicide bombers,
The documentary says Dr. Shafiq Massalha conducted a study that has led him to conclude that "in about 10 years, a very murderous generation will come of age, full of hatred and ready to die in suicide missions," the Israeli National News Service reported.
In the film titled "Seeds of Hate," the narrator says: "In a society in which the legitimization of child murderers becomes a part of its ideology, then normative human morality no longer exists. Which moral rules shall these children pass onto their children when they in turn become parents?"
The scene moves to Arab men yelling and holding up pieces of human organs with a child's loud voice in the background saying, "I will eat the flesh of my conqueror."
The Independent said Massalha, with the assistance of teachers and social workers, distributed notebooks in the spring of 2001 to a random sample of 150 boys and girls aged 10 and 11. The psychologist asked the children to record their dreams every morning for 10 days and to illustrate them.
He found 78 percent of the dreams were political and tended to be physically violent.
"Suicide is a sickness, and [the terrorist leaders] are using it for perverse political ends," he said. "The increasing suicide actions, which receive support and admiration amongst Muslim youth in general and Palestinian youth in particular, have become one of our most dangerous social and psychological phenomena. …"
Do you see the similarities? Do you want your society to become violent and suicidal like it is in the Muslim world? If not then quit this tolerance toward marijuana - which is in my opinion - the worst drug on the list!

Father of Cole victim sues over ban of his anti-Islam decals
For more than six years, Jesse Nieto drove to work at Camp Lejeune, N.C., in a car that left no doubt about his views."Islam = terrorism" asserted one sticker on the back window of his maroon Scion. Another decal showed a cartoon boy urinating on the image of a turban-wearing man. A third, paraphrased to eliminate a curse word, said, Disgrace my flag, and I will defecate on your Quran.
His feelings stem from a personal tragedy: His son died in a terrorist attack on the Norfolk-based destroyer Cole in Yemen in 2000.
In August, base officials told Nieto, a retired Marine and civilian employee, to remove those stickers. He did.
Two weeks later, Nieto was ordered to remove two other decals critical of Islam on his car, or stop driving it onto base altogether.
Nieto refused to get rid of two sets of stickers, both of which show a star and a crescent moon - symbolic of Islam - with a red circle and line through them. One says, "We died they rejoiced." The other reads, "No quarter Islamic terrorist."
In November, Nieto filed a federal lawsuit contending that base officials violated his free speech and equal protection rights. If decals of Confederate flags and silhouettes of busty ladies are permitted on private vehicles at the base, the suit reasons, Nieto's political sentiments should be, too.
"It's political correctness run amok," said Robert Muise, an attorney with the Thomas More Law Center in Michigan, who is working for free on Nieto's case. "It's remarkable that given the situation we're in today, the wars we're fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, that our own military would prohibit this speech."

Girl strangled slowly for family's honour
A JORDANIAN man slowly strangled his 16-year-old married sister, using wire and the girl's scarf, after she visited a female friend because he had to "cleanse family honour".
After jailing the unidentified 20-year-old man for seven years, Judge Hassan Amayreh said: "It took him 30 minutes to strangle his sister to death with a metal wire and her own scarf."

The United Nations said yesterday that a Somali stoned to death by Islamists on accusations of adultery was a 13-year-old girl who had apparently been raped while visiting her grandmother.
In the first such public killing by the militants for about two years, she was placed in a hole and stoned to death on Oct. 28 in rebel-held Kismayu port in front of hundreds of spectators after local leaders said she was guilty under sharia law.

Cannabis smokers are unwittingly funding Islamist extremists linked to terror attacks in Spain, Morocco and Algeria, according to a joint investigation by the Spanish and French secret services. The finding will be seized on both by campaigners for a harsher clampdown on cannabis and by those who argue that legalisation is the only way to end a petty dealing trend that is dragging growing numbers of teenagers into crime.
The investigation by the Centro Nacional de Inteligencia and the Renseignements Generaux was launched after Spanish police found that the Islamists behind the March 2004 bombings in Madrid bought their explosives from former miners in return for blocks of hashish. The bombings claimed 191 lives.

WASHINGTON – An American citizen who returned to Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein to become minister of electricity has called for support of the terrorist insurgency and claims to have contributed the maximum amount under the law to the presidential candidacy of Barack Obama.
Ayham al-Samurai, a Sunni Muslim and former Iraqi exile who lived in the U.S. for 20 years, held a press conference in Amman, Jordan, yesterday saying he hoped the terrorist insurgents in Iraq "would continue against occupation and avenge the Iraqi people."
The former Chicagoan added, in remarks carried by Radio Sawa, that he had contributed $2,300 to Obama's campaign.
Obama's opponent, Sen. John McCain, has been making much of the support offered the Illinois senator's campaign by Hamas's top political adviser, Ahmed Yousuf, in an exclusive interview with WND's Jerusalem bureau chief Aaron Klein. News that a fellow Chicagoan is both supporting him politically as well as the insurgency in Iraq is not expected to be welcome news in the Obama camp.
However, al-Samurai's ties to Illinois and Obama don't stop with the financial contribution.
While serving as minister of electricity, al-Samurai brokered deals with Antoin Rezko, the Syrian-American millionaire who backed Obama politically and personally. Rezko was convicted of fraud in Illinois the day Obama unofficially declared himself the winner of the Democratic nomination.
Al-Samurai was appointed minister during the term of Prime Minister Iyad Allawi. After Allawi was booted from office, al-Samurai became a mediator between insurgent groups and Zalmay Khalilzad, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq.
He was later arrested by Iraqi police in Baghdad on corruption charges but escaped from prison with the help of U.S. private security personnel – leaving Iraq with the help of a forged Chinese passport. He later returned to Chicago where he apparently made his contribution to Obama.
Now he hopes for a return to Iraqi politics as a result of a recently passed amnesty law in the parliament.
He said in Jordan yesterday "the [insurgency] in Iraq is a legitimate resistance, and it is against occupation, and any resistance in the world against occupation is considered legitimate. I hope that [it] continues and avenges the Iraqi people, and I look forward to expanding its political agenda."
He also said he is still a part of Allawi's political bloc.
Radio Sawa is a 24-hour Arabic-language radio network that originates in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates and Washington and receives support from the U.S. government.

A WOMAN suicide bomber targeted football fans near a cafe north of Baghdad as they were celebrating Iraq's win in a World Cup qualifying game yesterday.
At least 34 people were wounded when the woman detonated her explosives belt as she walked towards the crowd emerging from the cafe in Qara Tappah after Iraq's 2-1 win over China in an away game, police said.
More casualties were prevented because a policeman spotted the detonator and screamed at the crowd to disperse.
