Turkey offers restart of Mideast talks

ANKARA, Turkey, March 27 (UPI) -- Turkey's prime minister says he is ready to again take on the duties of a mediator for peace talks between Israel and Syria.

From UPI.com

Turkish Prime Minister Recept Tayyip Erdogan told a television interviewer Friday that Turkey is ready "to do our best" if both countries request resumption of talks, The Jerusalem Post reports.

"We are determined to do whatever we can for peace in the Middle East," said Erdogan. "All issues should be resolved at the negotiating table."

Turkey mediated four rounds of indirect talks between Israel and Syria last year. Those talks ended when Israel carried out a military incursion against Hamas in response for continual rocket attacks, The Journal of Turkish Weekly said.

Erdogan's criticism of the operation prompted senior Israeli officials to say that Israel was reconsidering Turkey's role as a mediator in the region.

Eurabia And Amerabia

Meanwhile, closer to home, even as Brits in Luton plan to demonstrate against Al Qaeda on March, 28, Fairfax County, Virginia, is considering allowing the expansion of the Islamic Saudi Academy, owned by the Royal Embassy of Saud Arabia. In the video below, you'll note the black bag walking around starting at time marker 1:29, the Islamic prayer session inside the Fairfax County Government Center, commonly referred to by us county residents as "The Taj Mahal," and all the kaffiyehs, symbols of Pseudostinian solidarity:

Could Turkey Be The Seat Of Turkey

By Theodore Shoebat, author of In Satan's Footsteps.

Revelation 13 tells us that Antichrist kingdom is one that received a deadly wound "And I saw one of his [the beast's] heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast." (Rev. 13:3) This beast is an empire that was destroyed but will revive itself (Revelation 2:12-13) also tells us that Pergamos (in Turkey) is where Satan's seat is. Antichrist will also "confirm the covenant with many for seven years" (Dan. 9: 27.) So from this we know that the Antichrist will confirm a false peace treaty with Israel that will supose to last for seven years then break it after three and a half years. If I am correct, we will be seeing Turkey pushing for peace and trying to revive its old Ottoman glory which was defeated by the British in World War One. Today, history is in the making. Syria's president said that his country and Israel were very close to reaching a peace deal. In an interview that appeared Wednesday in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Bashar Assad said that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had agreed to withdraw from all of the Golan Heights during indirect peace talks mediated by Turkey. 1

Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State, who last week visited Turkey as part of a regional tour to show Washington’s resolve in tackling some of the Middle East’s longstanding crises, told Tayyip Erdogan, the Prime Minister, that mediating talks between Israel and Syria would be a top priority. Ankara has been brokering indirect talks with Israel and Syria for more than a year, and is seen as one of the most neutral diplomatic conduits in the region. 2

What about Turkey trying to heal its wound, bringing back its future glory? A recent article by Marc Gopin titled Turkey's return to glory states that "Turkey is pushing for a strong embrace of Palestinians and very public efforts to negotiate with Hamas on the foundations of a long-term treaty with Israel; and fourth, an ongoing engagement with Syria and Iran as to the conditions of their engagement with Israel and with the Arab world." Not only is Turkey to be mediator, but revive it's glory days as a super power in the region "Turkey needs to bury its ghosts of the 20th century so that the 21st century will see its return to international glory. The time has come for an Ottoman-inspired enlightenment."

An Islamomaniac's Wish For America

From a Kuwaiti professor and Islamic scholar, no less:

The YouTube text for the above video is below the fold (emphases mine):
Abdallah Al-Nafisi: Four pounds of anthrax in a suitcase this big carried by a fighter through tunnels from Mexico into the US, are guaranteed to kill 330,000 Americans within a single hour, if it is properly spread in population centers there. What a horrifying idea. 9/11 will be small change in comparison. Am I right? There is no need for airplanes, conspiracies, timings, and so on. One person, with the courage to carry four pounds of anthrax, will go to the White House lawn, and will spread this "confetti" all over them, and then will do these cries of joy. It will turn into a real "celebration."

The WMD is a problem. The Americans are afraid that the WMDs might fall into the hands of "terrorist" organizations, like Al-Qaeda and others. There is good reason for the Americans' fears, because Al-Qaeda used to have in the Herat region... It had laboratories in north Afghanistan. They have scientists, chemists, and nuclear physicists. They are nothing like they are portrayed by these mercenary journalists backward Bedouins living in caves. No, no. By no means. This kind of talk can fool only naïve people. People who follow such things know that Al-Qaeda has laboratories, just like Hizbullah. Hizbullah has laboratories in South Lebanon, in which it produces weapons and sells them. Hizbullah has laboratories in South Lebanon, from which it sells weapons to Romania and Hungary.

[...]

If they call someone a terrorist, say: "He's a friend of mine." Why? Because these "terrorists" are the world's most God-fearing people. They are the most honorable people in the world, the best people in the world. I have personally met Mullah Omar. I had the honor of meeting with Mullah Omar. This is a man who does not belong to this era. He always refused to meet with Western delegations. He would say to them: "Go to Kabul, I am in Qandahar." "Truly, the polytheists are impure" if you know what I mean. "Go meet the foreign minister to talk politics. I am staying here." This is the kind of people who are suitable for dealing with the West. As for 'Ariqat, Dahlan, and their ilk they do not benefit the nation in any way.

[...]

In the US, there are more than 300,000 white militia members, who are calling to attack the federal government in Washington, and to banish the Arabs, the Jews, and the negroes [sic] from the US. These are racist people. They are called "rednecks." The Ku Klux Klan. They are racists.

[...]

These militias even think about bombing nuclear plants within the US. May Allah grant them success, even though we are not white, or even close to it, right? They have plans to bomb the nuclear plant at Lake Michigan. This plant is very important. It supplies electricity to all of North Africa [sic]. May Allah grant success to one of these militia leaders, who is thinking about bombing this plant. I believe that we should devote part of our prayers to him. We should pray that Allah grants him success, so he can complete this mission, and we will be able to visit him and congratulate him, Allah willing.

[...]

Allah states in the Koran that the hostility between us and [the Jews] is eternal. So whoever talks about dialogue cut off his tongue! What dialogue are they talking about?! There is no room for dialogue. Allah said that our hostility towards the Jews is eternal, and then along comes someone and talks about brotherhood and so on... This contradicts the Koran. Anyone who contradicts the Koran is an infidel. Accusing people of heresy? Yes, I'm all for it. Yes, I support accusing people of heresy.

[...]

We should also defend the resistance, and not remain silent in the face of this organized campaign against the resistance in the press of the Arabian Peninsula and the Gulf, and other Arab newspapers. There are voices expressing doubts about the leaders of the resistance. We must confront these [journalists], and prevent them from continuing this, even if it means calling them over the phone, and saying to them: "Do not repeat these despicable things in your columns or your articles, or else we will take the following measures against you." We must resort to pressure with these people. We must not remain silent. We must not leave them to their own devices, under the pretext of freedom of expression. This is a fifth column.

[...]

I, Abdallah Fahd Abd Al-'Aziz Al-Nafisi, am inciting you to confront, using any means possible, anyone who speaks out against the resistance. "Any means possible" get it?

[...]

The [Hamas] ministers are mujahideen. I know a minister who actually participated in operations.
How long before BHO reaches out to Kuwaiti Professor Abdallah Nafisi? Not out of the realm of possibility if the dhimmitude continues at its present rate.

Just a few days ago this appeared in the New York Times when BHO spoke of moderate elements of the Taliban, never mind the Taliban's vigorous assertions that moderation isn't a characteristic for the group.

Vice President Joe Biden, not one to be left out, also offered his input and held forth on the Taliban:

In addition to the above, we learn today that BHO may soon approach Ayatollah Khamenei, as Gateway Pundit reports (emphases mine):
The Obama administration is leaning toward making a major diplomatic overture to Iran before the country's presidential elections in June. This initiative could come in the form of a letter from President Obama to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to two senior European diplomats who have met in recent weeks with key State Department officials crafting a new US policy toward Iran.

The letter would be aimed at initiating talks over the Iranian nuclear program and Iran's role in neighboring Iraq and Afghanistan, the diplomats said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

It would be the first formal communication between an American president and Iran's leadership since Washington cut diplomatic ties with Tehran following the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
We've got "Change!" How much and what kind remains to be seen.

HONORING FIREFIGHTERS

Sgt. Freedom gives a good talk on the strenght of fire fighters.

Dangerous Thinking

From this letter to the editor of the Washington Post:
It is now up to us -- the people who voted for him -- to show massive support. It is up to us to put pressure on our senators and representatives to pass this budget.

If this budget fails, then it is we who have failed, not Mr. Obama.
Read the entire letter here.

Now consider the following information excerpted from the book Captive Hearts, Captive Minds by Madeleine Landau Tobias and Janja Lalich:
In cults and abusive relationships, those in a subordinate position usually come to accept the abuse as their fault, believing that they deserve the foul treatment or that it is for their own good. They sometimes persist in believing that they are bad rather than considering that the person upon whom they are so dependent is cruel, untrustworthy, and unreliable. It is simply too frightening for them to do that: it threatens the balance of power and means risking total rejection, loss, and perhaps even death of self or loved ones.

This explains why an abused cult follower may become disenchanted with the relationship or the group yet continue to believe in the teachings, goodness, and power of the leader.
Also see the following web site: Is Barack Obama the Messiah?

Let's go back to a year ago.

Video made before the November 4 election:

CNN video, February 15, 2008:

The signs of The Obama Cult were present. Like all cult followers, those caught up in the momentum of the cult did not see the danger signs — nor do BHO's followers and defenders see the danger signs now, as evidenced by the letter to the editor cited at the beginning of this post. How does one reason with these people?

Destroying Human Embryos Not Only Unethical, but Unnecessary: Congressmen

By Kathleen Gilbert

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 6, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Pro-Life members of the U.S. House of Representatives this week urged congressional leaders to abandon federal funding of embryo-destructive stem cell research in favor of ethical adult stem cell research.
"We have moved beyond the ethical debate because we have something in hand that is the promise and the hope of regenerative medicine," insisted Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) in a speech on the House floor Wednesday.

Smith and nine other pro-life Members of Congress discussed the breakthroughs and advantages of stem cell therapies that do not require the destruction of human life. The members said that adult stem cells from various sources have already been shown to cure or mitigate leukemia, type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, lupus, sickle cell anemia, and dozens more.
"Human embryo-destroying stem cell research is not only unethical, unworkable and unreliable, it is now demonstrably unnecessary," said Smith. "Adult stem cells ... are truly remarkable.

They work, they have no ethical baggage, and advances are made every day at a dizzying pace.
"Unlike embryonic stem cells that kill the donor, are highly unstable, have a propensity to morph into tumors and are likely to be rejected by the patient unless strong anti-rejection medicines are administered, induced pluripotent cells, stem cells, have none of those deficiencies
and are emerging as the future, the greatest hope of regenerative medicine," Smith stated.

Daily Mail removes reference to Muslim husband telling his wife to read the Qur'an as he strangled her

From Jihad Watch

March 6-2009

Over at Atlas Shrugs, Pamela has a story on yet another honor killing, this time in Britain. Pamela links to Tundra Tabloids and to an article in the Daily Mail entitled "Abused wife stabbed to death by husband she'd warned police would kill her." It's about how the honor killing victim, Sabina Akhtar, told police that her husband, Malik Mannan had beaten her repeatedly and warned that he would kill her, and they did nothing.
In the story from the Daily Mail is this:

"Using both hands to squeeze her windpipe

he told her to read her Koran adding: 'Read whatever other stuff you need to read now. This is your final hour.' The arrival of his brother stopped the attack but Mannan left shouting: 'I'm going to get a knife and when I return I'm going to slaughter you."

But now at the Daily Mail link, the story has been retitled as "Family's fury at legal blunders that left husband free to stab wife to death - despite her warnings he would kill her" and there is no reference to the Islamic holy book. The paragraph above has been revised to read this way:
In the early hours of the following morning he attacked her again, telling her 'This is your final hour', but left after she made a desperate call for help to his brother, threatening to return with a knife and 'slaughter' her.

Here is a Google search indicating that the original paragraph did indeed appear in the Daily Mail story before it was revised. And just in case that disappears, here is a screen capture:

Authors Warn That Many Textbooks Distort Religion

Saturday, March 07, 2009
FOX NEWS
By Lauren Green

Jesus was a Palestinian? That's what one public school textbook says.
Although Jesus lived in a region known in his time as Palestine, the use of the term "Palestinian," with its modern connotations, is among the hundreds of textbook flaws cited in a recent five-year study of educational anti-Semitism detailed in the book "The Trouble with Textbooks: Distorting History and Religion."
Authors Gary Tobin and Dennis Ybarra of the Institute for Jewish and Community Research found some 500 imperfections and distortions concerning religion in 28 of the most widely used social studies and history textbooks in the United States.
Ybarra, a research associate at the institute, called the above example "shocking."
A "true or false" question on the origins of Christianity asserted that "Christianity was started by a young Palestinian named Jesus." The teacher's edition says this is "true."
But even though Jesus is the founder of Christianity, the question ignores the fact that he was Jewish. And Ybarra said, "The Christian scriptures say that he preached in Judea and Galilee, not Palestine," a term that was used at the time as a less specific description of the broader region between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River.

How Islam Is Portrayed In Our Textbooks

Also see this posting at Jihad Watch.

Have you checked your child's textbooks lately? For that matter, have you checked other teaching materials your child is learning from?

This 2004 article by Paul Sperry explains one of the moving forces behind the Islamification of our nation's textbooks. Excerpt:
A top textbook consultant shaping classroom education on Islam in American public schools recently worked for a school funded and controlled by the Saudi government, which propagates a rigidly anti-Western strain of Islam, a WorldNetDaily investigation reveals.

The consultant, Susan L. Douglass, has also praised Pakistan's madrassa schools as "proud symbols of learning," even after the U.S. government blamed them for fueling the rise of the Taliban and al-Qaida.

Douglass, routinely described as a "scholar" or "historian," has edited manuscripts of world history textbooks used by middle and high school students across the country. She's also advised state education boards on curriculum standards dealing with world religion, and has helped train thousands of public school teachers on Islamic instruction.

In effect, she is responsible for teaching millions of American children about Islam, experts say, while operating in relative obscurity.
Read the rest here.

Remember this: on a typical school day, your child spends more time in school than with his parents.

Never underestimate the power of classroom teaching.

Care Net Opposes Obama Decision to Overturn Protections for Pro-Life Docs

Contact: Kristin Hansen, Care Net, 703-554-8742

LANSDOWNE, VA, Feb. 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- Care Net President Melinda Delahoyde responded to news Friday that President Obama has directed the Department of Health and Human Services to overturn regulations that protect medical professionals from being forced to perform or refer for abortion. "Our nation's physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers have the right to practice medicine without violating their conscience. To remove these protections is to ultimately remove these individuals of integrity from the field of medicine entirely," Delahoyde said. "That's not an action that we as Americans should be willing to accept."
