Health officials are reporting a second swine flu death in Milwaukee.
The case involves an adult who did not have any of the common underlying medical conditions that typically put people at risk from the flu.
The first death, reported on June 4, involved an individual who was vulnerable to the virus because of an underlying medical condition.
"We can not stress enough that swine flu continues to be a serious concern throughout the nation and within our community," Bevan Baker, commissioner of the Milwaukee Health Department, said in a statement.
The announcement comes on the heels of the World Health Organization's elevation of swine flu alert to a pandemic level.
