AP: Obama exec order to close Gitmo readied
A draft executive order has been readied for President Obama that would close Guantanamo Bay detention center within a year, the Associated Reports.
The AP, which says it has obtained a copy of the draft order, says it would also declare a halt to all trials currently under way at the facility, where roughly 800 detainees.
Update at 12:22 p.m. ET: Reuters news agency reports that the Irish government has signaled that it is open to taking some of the detainees.

And just which country is going to embrace these terrorists? Already several European countries have stated that they will not accept such terrorists into their countries.
Ireland now sends positive signals? When push comes to shove, Ireland may rescind that invitation. They the United States will be stuck with the terrorists!
